The Tragedy.

Whenever it comes to an open topic to write or talk about, everyone has different views on it. Some will like to talk about things they’ve experienced, some will like to talk about their lives and some like to tell a story. I however, will be the one telling the story. I feel like telling an emotional story in my life. My story will be about my grandmother on my mother’s side.

She left us last year during April and it was a disaster for all of us. There was a tradition when I was young where we would always go to my granny’s house on Thursdays to have dinner because she would cook for us. My granny, to me, is the BEST cook ever. She’s the reason why I love to eat. I would always look forward to Thursdays just because I get to see her and obviously to eat her delicious food. Her specialty was her spaghetti, mash potatoes, potato salad, corn beef and her own Chinese soup she made.

Not only the food I look forward to, I always look forward on her every week questions asking “So, school was boring today I presume?’ that question would make me laugh and then she will laugh along which is what I love about my granny. She has that cheeky adorable laugh that makes you want to just hug her so tight which is what I always did. Not forgetting that I love watching the tv series Friends with her. She loves that show, it’s her favourite show. She laughs so hard whenever she watches that show and I love seeing her so happy like that. Seeing her happy is all I ever wanted, seeing her smile, seeing her giggle, seeing her make jokes and then laughing at them by herself.

Then came august 2009, that’s when everything hit her at once. My granny, grandpa, aunt and my two cousins stay under the same roof. So my aunt is a workaholic, she works till late like 11 or 12 so she’s never really home. Then my cousin Alex, she got a job that followed UK time so she worked at night and during the day, she sleeps. Shaun, her favourite grandson got a job near his father’s house so he stayed there from then on. So she started feeling lonely because it was only her and my grandpa.

In October 2009, she was showing weird signs like getting sick, not wanting to eat, not wanting to go out, she doesn’t want to cook nor do anything at all. So we all got worried and took her to the hospital. They said she’s not sick or anything but she’s just very weak because she doesn’t eat and all that. Later on, we found out she was depressed. We then went to my granny’s everyday and we tried our best to cheer her up, make her eat but no, she just wouldn’t want to do anything. She wouldn’t listen to us, she wouldn’t let us take care of her, sometimes, she wouldn’t even want to walk.

I could not believe my eyes. How can a person just change like that? She was so happy and she was MY granny, how did this happen I don’t understand. She then became so skinny and lacked of glucose and all such.

It kept on going until April 2010. I remember that day. It was a Tuesday and I had to stay back for my Blue house practice. We couldn’t bring phones to school and it just so happened that I needed to call my mum and tell her that my friend will send me back so she doesn’t have to pick me up. I kept going on saying you don’t need to pick me up, and all she said was “Evelyn Evelyn Evelyn Evelyn, LISTEN TO ME!” I was scared, I didn’t want to know what she was going to say and she then said “grandma passed away this morning, Bryan is coming to pick you up now.’ I just dropped the phone and broke down and cried. I couldn’t believe it, what happened? I just saw her yesterday and I just didn’t understand. Everyone was crowding around me asking me what happened, teachers came giving me tissues but I couldn’t say a thing, I was speechless and when my brother came, we straight went home and I hugged my mum tight and told her that I love her and that everything was going to be okay but even I knew that it wasn’t. I was dying inside but I knew that crying and getting angry wouldn’t bring her back. We eventually recovered slowly. I miss her so much. ):

animal rights 1

Animals are no different than humans. Sometimes to me, i feel that animals even have bigger hearts than humans and animals are so important in our lives. They actually make humans happy and bring life to them. So why are they different? Why should they be treated differently? There’s no reason or even if there is, it isn’t logical.

How do i feel towards this matter? I feel that its very unfair for the animals to be treated this way. They have feelings too just that its not as visible as humans. Whenever an animal is treated unfairly, its not nice to see. Its very hurtful and its also a bad thing to do obviously. What if it were you? If you were the one who was treated that way and tortured at the same time till you cant even move, cant walk and its impossible to do anything.

We should stand up for the animals. Whenever their attacked or not treated right, we should be there and do something about it. Its not fair that they have to go through this alone. Yes, they’re animals, but they have hearts as well and they can obviously feel pain. Its not right to just hit a dog or kick a dog and then walk away. Even if you’re scared of animals or what not, you should not harm them as they did not harm you. Animals only get angry when you do something to them, whenever you leave them alone, so will they.

I hate it when i’m at the mamak and i see small kids throwing rocks or things at the cats or dogs that pass by or are under their table. Why cant they just leave the animals alone? Its not like they’re biting you or licking you or what not. They deserve a chance to live on this earth as well. What we should do about this is, whenever we see people doing this, we should make them stop, tell them that they have no rights to harm the animals in anyway.

Furthermore, i know that people think, that’s not mine, i have no responsible for this animal so why should we care? Well, JUST SO YOU KNOW, THEY HAVE FEELINGS TOO! We should start making it our responsibility to take care and adopt these animals who have no home and no where to go.

They are so adorable and cunning that you just want to hold them in your arms and pat them. How can you not like animals? They are the reason why this earth started. They are forever in our hearts whenever we’re at school, college, work and etc because we love them, we just do. There’s nothing not to love about. We know in our hearts that they have a right to live on this world peacefully like we do. They do not harm us in anyway and we should just leave them alone. This is why animals have the right and they deserve a chance to live (:

Best Places To Go Part 2

Day 3 was shopping day and boy were we all excited for it. The first place we went was Pacific Fair Shopping centre. The place was kinda dull to use, we didn’t really spend much there. The next mall we went to was Centro Surfers Paradise. NOW THAT’S WHAT I CALL A MALL! The place was amazing and not only did we window shop, we went in the shops more than once and think twice whether we want to buy it or whether it was worth that much of money but what the heck, its not like we go to Australia everyday so we bought a lot of things from there. After that was lunch time, we had lunch at this restaurant nearby called Costa D’oro. They served Italian food and it was so delicious. I remember having the Garlic Prawns. They were so yummy I made my brother order it again so I could share with him half!

After that we went walking around the town just to look at things. The next thing on the list was the Crocodile place and the zoo. There was a show about the crocodile’s on how they survive all the time whether in water or on land. We then looked at tigers and other animals in the zoo. Obviously. Anyways, next is the BEST PART OF THE WHOLE TRIP! THE WARNER BROTHER’S PLACE! WE HAD THE TIME OF OUR LIVES MY BROTHER AND ME! First we went for the Superman ROLLERCOASTER and OH MY GOODNESS! It was awesome and it gave us this adrenaline rush that made us wanna pee all the way through but it was all worth it. Next we went for the stunt show AND GOSH! BEST LIVE STUNT SHOW EVER! Despite the fact that the weather was really hot plus the explosions of the stunt show but NO REGRETS!

Moving on, we went for this kind of musical thing. It was some cartoon show which my parents didn’t wanna go for but me and my bro were excited and we were already there so why not just go for it. WE DID! AGAIN, NO REGRETS! The looney tunes were so adorable the way they laughed and all that. They sang pretty good as well. We then wanted more adrenaline rush so we tried the other rollercoasters. We sat on the Wild West Falls. OH MY GOODNESS! That was amazing I tell you, it was so fun and fast at the same time. Lastly we went for the batman spaceshot! Obviously I had no guts to do it but my brother did! He came off the ride crying cause he was so afraid but at the same time, he said it was so fun and was begging me to try it but I didn’t cause I was so scared. THAT I regret! So that was a really fun day at the warner bro’s theme park. I would love to go there again!

Then we head back to the hotel to have a nice shower and some rest before our last dinner there. We decided to book the whole restaurant downstairs to have a big barbeque party and it was amazing! All the lamb, chicken, sausages, squid’s, prawns, burgers and etc. I def had a great night with all that amazing food in my mouth! We even had dancing and singing and it was amazing! We then went up to the room and had a good night sleep. The last day was do anything day. So we could wake up anytime. That night me and my bro went down to the beach to look at the baby crabs walking again and we tried catching some but mum and dad didn’t allow us to bring it back to the hotel room so we let it free. That night we slept at about 2am and woke up at 10 the next morning. We checked out at 1 and then headed to the airport. It was the best vacation in my life. Had a blast and would love to go there again (:

Best Places To Go Part 1

The best place to go for me is definitely Australia Gold Coast. I went there with my family and dad’s company as it was a company trip. We went there during summer and I enjoyed everything about it. Best 4 days spent! We went there on a Sunday morning and stayed till next Thursday afternoon. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Surfers Paradise which is a 4-5 star hotel. It was such a lovely place to be in, walking into the lobby made my eyes so big and my jaw dropped. It was so beautiful and interesting to see all the lighting and the decorations all over, I was so amazed cause I’ve never seen anything like that in my life. Then we checked into the room and rest for a bit.

For dinner we went to this wonderful place to dine. The restaurant was called Cav’s Steakhouse And Butchery where their signature dishes are the steaks and they were really good. I remember ordering some mix grill and oh my goodness it was awesome. It was perfectly cooked and no regrets to ordering that even though I had a dilemma on deciding what to order as it was all mouth watering. For dessert I had the bread & butter pudding as I remember the waiter suggesting it and it was so great I ordered another!

After that we went for sight seeing as we walked on the beach and we even tried looking for crabs and we saw really cute baby crabs walking and coming out from their holes in the sand and it was so cute! We then called it a night as we had to wake up early the next morning cause we were following a tour and they said we had to wake up at 7.30am, have breakfast then gather at the lobby at 9am. Even when we went back to the room, me and my brother couldn't sleep cause we were so excited for the next day and we stayed up till 1am playing cards and mini boards games.

The next morning we woke up and straight away went down for breakfast and it was a buffet breakfast that kept me going on and on to the counter to get more food. My mum had to stop me cause we had to be at the lobby by 9am and it was already 8.45am. So I stuffed all the food down and we hurried to the lobby. When we reached the lobby they were announcing our itinerary and I heard the word koala bear and dreamworld in the same sentence. We all knew that dreamworld was that amazing theme park in Gold Coast that everyone loved and we couldn't wait to go there.

When we arrived at dreamworld, the first thing all of us shouted was to see the Koala Bear and so we did. That was the first thing on the list. The place was called Koala Country in dreamworld and it was amazing. They were so cute and cuddly as we got to carry it and take pictures with it. One koala bear pee-d on my dad’s hand while he was carrying it during the picture taking. IT WAS HILARIOUS! We couldn't stop laughing at that thought the whole day cause of my dad’s hilarious facial expression! After that we went on the Moto coaster’s and other things in the theme park that were really exciting like this one booth where you get to watch some 3D surfing show and you actually get wet when they splash the water! And we also went into the batman mobile and we got this free pass into watching one of the movies. It was all so fun!

We left the theme park at almost 6pm then back to the hotel and had dinner at the hotel’s restaurant downstairs and it was all so tasty. That night we all headed to the room early to have a goodnight rest for the next day which was SHOPPING day! WOOHOO! We all slept at about 10 that night. Looking forward to the next day (:

College Life Part 2

So part 2 of my college life, I would like to talk about Taylors Campus. The atmosphere and the environment is just lovely. Its really nice to just walk around the campus with a care-free mind. As everyone knows the main highlight of this campus is the lake of course. During breaks while waiting for our classes to start, we like to sit by the lake and feed the fishes. One pinch of bread thrown in the lake and all the fishes go swimming to it straight away. Its really nice to see that somehow.

Other than that, the FOOD at lakeside is awesome. I find that so far all the restaurants I’ve tried, ALL the food were awesome. Then again, I eat a lot so everything is awesome to me. I like eating at the food court though. There are a variety of choices there and it all tastes good. The best I’ve tasted so far is the mix rice. The chicken rice is not bad as well. Gosh, got me blogging about food and now I’m hungry. Okay, back to the campus. The restaurant Face to Face is also a nice place to eat. The Pan Mee there is the highlight of the shop. Its really tasty.

As for good delights, like snacks or drinks, there are vending machines all over the campus. For me if I want a good drink, I would go to Each a cup which has really good bubble tea drinks. The honeydew ice blended bubble tea is my favourite which I always drink! Next is the waffle shop, im not really sure of the name but its near LT 3 and LT 4. I cant believe I can remember where its actually placed at. Then again, I can eat, A LOT! Every time there’s a 30mins or 1hour break, I always go and look for food and I have to eat. The food places are so convenient in lakeside that I just got to eat. I guess now I know why I always come home broke. Okay, I should stop talking about food.

What else can I say about college life? OH YEAH! College has made me realise that I’m more independent now. I don’t need my mummy by my side to buy my school books anymore, I can drive myself to college but sometimes I rather not cause of the parking. I think I have lessen my mum’s burden on worrying about transport here and there as my house is only 10mins away from college.

Not forgetting, during breaks to kill time if we don’t have homework, we entertain ourselves by playing cards. It’s a game called big 2. It actually has a Chinese name but I have no idea how to spell it. So I guess there’s nothing to complain about for my college life. Every thing is going smoothly and I’m loving it to the max.

College Life Part 1

What is your definition of college life? A lot of people say when you’re in college you will enjoy it to the max, some say that you will be very stressed out and other’s just think that it’s the beginning of their lives. Well, to me, I always thought that college would be a whole new chapter of my life. As of today, it is. I was really excited to start college because of three reasons which are I could not stand the lazing around, I was excited for the course I enrolled for which is Diploma In Communication and of course to meet new friends.

The week after orientation week, I was really nervous at first but then as classes started, I made a lot of new friends. I met really interesting people from different countries and states with unique things about themselves and such. As for my course, I am currently taking 5 subjects which is Fundamental In Management by Ms Rosaline Fernandez, Mass Communication by Ms. Zee, College Study Skills by Ms. Ngim Mei Yee, Introduction to Information Technology by Edward Sim and lastly Creative Comm and Portfolio Development by Dr. Benedict. So far all of my lecturer’s are awesome. Sadly, we have not had a class with Dr. Benedict yet as he just caught the chicken pox. Hopefully he gets better. The subject I like most is Mass Comm because so far our classes are fun. Ms. Zee is the best and I really like her teaching style. Other than that, I really like the system that Taylors have which is that, they have a portal online which keeps all your course documents and assignments up to date and any announcements as well.

Moving on, at first I found it hard to wake up early everyday cause during the holidays, from December to March I always slept very late at about 5am or 6am n woke up at 3pm or 4pm which was a very bad habit that went on for almost 3 months. Starting college has really made that habit go away cause I had to wake up at 6.30am everyday and as time passed by, I eventually got used to it. Now even on Saturdays and Sundays I wake up around 8am or 9am unintentionally. Speaking of waking up early, even though my classes do not start at 8am everyday, I have to go early to find parking. Parking at Taylors is CRAZY! Latest you can go to have guaranteed parking is around 9am and after that, no way you can get parking.

Next, so far the classroom locations are alright but the air conditioner’s are really strong. I shiver and freeze to death if I don’t bring a “hoodie” and sometimes I cant even write. Thank god there are 5 minute breaks so we can stand outside and cool down. What else can I say about college life? How about the fact that I’m really enjoying it. There’s nothing that I dislike right now so I’m just living the college life (:
